Sales Policies, Licenses, Info, Etc.

Welcome to the unconventional Cloudland Castle Design's policies page.  Here everything is explained as simple as I can say it. The contracts are annotated for your convenience.  I am not a lawyer, and these annotations are not to be construed as legal advice, and all that other stuff.  They are, to the best of my knowledge, correct interpretations of the terms they define. The EULA, Sales Policy and Privacy info can be found below. Please read carefully before purchasing anything from our store!

Are the licenses and agreements and contracts posted for all to see prior to purchase? Yes. They are available HERE in standard  form. The return policy is hypocritical, however; I do not allow returns and refunds for any product I offer.  Every effort is made to give you full and detailed descriptions and images of the products, so you know what you are getting before you buy it. Once you order and pay for the item/s its yours. So make sure of what you order is what you want. Check and make sure your order is correct and complete before checking out. Read everything there is about the product you are buying, ignorance is no excuse.  I hope this will allow you to buy with confidence about the models' integrity. Cloudland Castle Designs and assoc. do not provide any guarantees user assumes all responsibilities.

The model package is yours - you bought it, you own it. You are not renting it or licensing it. Keep in mind the data is copyrighted material, like a book. As such, you are not allowed to make extra copies, nor keep any copies of the materials should you sell or give away the model, (ex: bought as a gift, or prize, or sold to an individual, etc). In short, that means the actual model, its mesh, textures, and or any other part of it. Also like a book, only one person can use it concurrently. There is no restriction on where you may use it - at home, at work, on vacation... you may install it and use it anywhere you use a computer. See below for details.

ACCEPTABLE USES 1: Create any image, animation, etc.; for personal or commercial uses. I only ask if you use it commercially to please give credit where credit is due. A honorable mention as a footnote would be nice. 2: Your household may use it - any spouses, siblings, parents, children, pets, long lost relatives, neighbor etc. (Note: if your neighbor has his own computer, try to encourage him to buy his own and stop freeloading.)

UNACCEPTABLE USES 1: Co-workers should not use your at-work copy of the model. 2: Sharing of the model's geometry files (either native OBJ or conversions), for a collaborative project is not allowed. If you need to share files for such a project, contact Cloudland Castle for a special usage waiver. 3: Distribution of any of the morph targets, meshes, geometry files, textures, in part or in whole is strictly prohibited. This means you can not mass sell this or mass distribute it (such as, on a CD, web site as a download, or in another way). All materials, textures, morph targets, etc is copyright protected and should be treated as so.

If you order an item here at Cloudland Castle Designs, your name, email, and address are recorded with your order and sent to me. (Your credit card info is not; Pay Pal payment processing handles all that.) These three items are stored in a local database with your order info. It is not stored on a network or the Internet. Basically, as you place your order, you become a "registered" user.
This database is used as a record of sales, and registered users. It is not used as a mailing list either by Cloudland Castle Designs, nor sold as a mailing list (or anything else for that matter) to anybody. Basically, it sits there, and nobody looks at it, unless I need to check up on who owns what.
